OTHER INFORMATION AND CONSIDERATIONS

Marriage License

It will be the responsibility of the couple to go in person to a state courthouse somewhere in Pennsylvania within 60 days of the date of the wedding to pick up a marriage license.  This license should be brought to the wedding rehearsal and given to the clergy who is celebrating your wedding.  He will fill out the necessary information and send it to the state.

"Marriage Banns"

The "banns" of marriage are no longer required by Church law. Saint Mary of the Mount Parish lists the wedding in the liturgy schedule the weekend before it is scheduled to take place.

Parish Life Before and After Your Wedding

Catholics relate to Christ's universal Church as members of a parish.  Such membership is important for many reasons. Within the first few weeks following your wedding, please formally register with your new marital status in the Catholic parish nearest to your new home.

If you are from our parish, you are very valuable to the life of St Mary of the Mount Church. Please become a part of all that occurs here. If the parish priests or parish staff can be of assistance to you in any way after your wedding, please do not hesitate to contact us at the Parish Center (412-381-0212).
