Ministries at Saint Mary of the Mount Parish

Social Service Ministry
Social service ministry includes providing assistance and direction to those in need of material items and well as providing outreach to those who are homebound.

Religious Education

The Saint Mary of the Mount/Saint Justin’s religious education program seeks to address the faith formation needs of all ages.  Our programs aim to introduce the individual to the Person of Christ through prayer and instruction in Catholic doctrine.  A breakdown of our specific offerings is as follows:

     Preschool:
  • Sunday preschool/kindergarten for 4-5 year olds
  • Construction underway for a Level 1 Catechesis of the Good Shepherd atrium (to open fall 2013).  For more information on the charism of Good Shepherd catechesis,  please see www.cgsusa.org.
     1st-8th graders:
  • Sunday catechetical instruction using the lectionary-based Pflaum curriculum.  For more information on Pflaum, please see www.pflaum.com.
  • Sacramental preparation for First Eucharist, First Reconciliation and Confirmation. 
     High Schoolers:
  • Construction underway for a youth group, as well as retreat opportunities.
  • Volunteer opportunities serving in the above activities

     Adults:

  • Ongoing faith formation via SMOMP speaker series, Scripture study groups, book club, etc.

Liturgy Committee

Music Ministry
The music ministry offers a variety of options for parishioners who wish to praise God through music. Music ministry volunteer opportunities range from singing as a member of the adult choir or leading the congregation through song as a cantor at one of the weekend masses. One can also volunteer as a bell choir member or instrumentalist at a weekend mass as well.
